#OTD 1940 Capt Long MC Diary(post war). Little activity during night. Full scale attack, proceeded by barrage, at dawn, 0330hrs. Chief attack on “B” Coy. A.F.V’s & infantry in large numbers in P.CORNET MALO - remaining mortar destroyed. #LeParadis#NorfolkRegiment #1940 #Norfolk
@BritishArmyWDs@WHW_HighlandIC Not just tanks!! It’s hammered through from being used a a decent sniper rifle through to armoured cars and onto tanks. 2nd Batt. Norfolks used these to smash attacks in their positions by armoured cars and tanks to great effect!! Then found use out in the desert and jungle too
“It is with incredible sadness that @VictoriaPolice names the two officers who were tragically killed in the line of duty in Porepunkah yesterday: Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart.” 😔

Devastating news from @VictoriaPolice this morning that two police officers have been shot and killed, and a third was seriously injured, during an incident in Porepunkah. 😔
Thinking of their friends, family, loved ones and colleagues at this terrible time.

@TerryWhenham@CWGC It’s more than likely that Peter’s relative fell back with the very few of A company that made it back to the Norfolks HQ and either fell in the fighting prior or dying the massacre. I can have a look at the missing men file to see what his wounds were if recorded

@Brick_Cop@ukhomeoffice Hoping to see some medals from this as commendations do not cut it. SLT seem inept as writing up commendations for officers correctly or do not even know the process.
