Behold the Festivus Pole miracle!
Actually a photo from the Fox Lake Fire lookout. #Yukon
All the best everyone from James and I. As a truly indy project, the support and encouragement over the last 4 years has been so important. Thank you. More updates on new work in 2020.
Creating subtitles is very important for your feature film. Lots of good options for generating a transcript but still need a lot of time to tweak and correct.
I really like the way the text works with the images! Here's some screen grabs...
"Climate policy can get complicated fast, but there is really only one question to ask when considering an official’s climate bona fides: Will his or her policies lead to an increase or decrease in the amount of fossil fuels coming out of the ground?" https://t.co/ok8VXNYHtG
Windy out here at Mcquesten so a lot more smoke as well.
I did see this moose here crossing the Stewart River and that was lovely.

@simonklever don't consider myself a photographer, really—more of an artist and documentarian who needs a lens for a lot of work. there are already lots of people out there taking pics of bears and scenery better than I do. I try to tell a story however the story demands it.
A bear walked up behind me while I was taking photos. Red squirrels chattering were my distant early warning line & I got into my truck in time. Looked like young black bear. I did not get a picture!
Back at Mcquesten, smoke plumes are popping back up overnight. I saw one at 8pm and by 7am the next morning there are several. I’ve processed this photo heavily to highlight.
The locals are now referring to this particular wildfire as a “sleeping giant”. It’s not over.

The days of forest fires here experience a variety of weather. Misty, cool in the morning, to blue, hot skies in the day— then storm clouds with thunder and lighting in the evenings.
An old saying from back east comes to mind "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes".

The Yukon government is lifting the ban on open fires in all fire management areas across the territory. A weekend of rainfall and a forecasted downturn in weather has reduced the fire danger for most of Yukon, while allowing firefighters to make progress on priority wildfires.
Very windy at Mcquesten air strip tonight. I can see spots of rain but this wind is bit alarming for the spread of the surrounding forest fires.
Weather Relationship status: complicated
Good morning from Mcquesten air strip. Rained again throughout much of the night. A cool mist greets the morning instead of smoke. Literally, everyone here is breathing easier. Hoping this gives crews a bit of a breather. #wildfire#yukon
Wildland Fire Management crews have been working to secure the Snag Campground near Beaver Creek for several days.
We thought this image, showing just how close the fire got to the campground, would be the best way to salute our firefighters’ successful protection operation.
Back at Mcquesten air strip tonight. Helicopters are gone—learned they were only here last night as a last resort.
A lot of lightening and thunder around here tonight. Raining again, but will there be new fires come morning?
