@DeepikaBhardwaj Well he might have made big promises to her on marrying her. God knows. In the end, the Pilot is enjoying his life without any consequences.
@ShivAroor Thousands of reserved category students, despite owning property worth billions, still use their caste certificates to snatch away seats from the General Category.
I cannot wipe my mind of the nightmarish video. The blood-curdling, desperate, raw screams of his wife as the demon slashed at his neck with his machete again and again, the frantic thrashing of an innocent, powerless man who had no chance, the frozen, blank faces of those who could only watch in shock, every horrifying detail seared into the memory and bringing up nausea. The monster’s actions were so grotesquely violent, each swing so merciless and deliberate, and then the unthinkable and unbearable - his kicking Chandra’s severed head into the parking lot nonchalantly like a ball, the most chilling disconnected act of insane brutality. Blood trailing across the floor nonchalantly like a rupture carving itself permanently on our souls and suddenly this entire world feels upside down, and every corner feels frightening as if it smells of unexpected terror.
As Indian immigrants, we come as accomplished professionals, working tirelessly to excel, to build, to contribute, and to succeed. But this kind of horror is a cruel reminder that no amount of achievement or effort guarantees safety.
Ordinary streets, workplaces, even the places we call home, feel fragile, threatened - all illusions of security lying shattered. Each step carries the weight of dread, and hope itself feels split forever. Only a lingering, gnawing fear remains that we hide away in a silent subconscious part of our minds, desperately trying to suppress the all too real doubt that our lives and security - can be ripped away in a single, brutal instant. And nobody would care.
May his family find the strength to overcome this shock. Om Shanti brother Chandra 🙏🙏😭🕉️
Happy Independence Day — But Only If…”
It’s strange how wishing Happy Independence Day has become an obstacle course of disclaimers. You can’t just say it anymore — oh no — you must first declare your political neutrality, list the country’s problems, apologize for colonial
history, and maybe add a footnote on GDP growth. Somewhere between the “ifs” and “buts,” the joy of the day gets cross-examined like a courtroom witness. Perhaps true independence will come the day we can wish each other without a preface, a paragraph, and a postscript explaining
