Did @nsitharaman just say "Due to the paper leak, the children got even more time to study so that they could perform better". …?
Honestly this entire Cabinet should resign.
One of the biggest thing Modi regime managed to achieve for themselves was demonizing protest to a degree that people now want "perfect protestors" even though all protests comes from a place of anger and frustration against the system& govt.
always had a problem with the "it's the poor uneducated indians voting for bjp" rhetoric. bjp's biggest voting base comes from the middle and upper middle classes. the "educated" ones. these are the corporate working fathers frothing at the mouth with each whatsapp forward.
Most people only want the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Don't mistake their criticism of the system or their demand for his resignation as anti-Modi or anti-BJP. The moment the protesters' demands shift to seeking the resignation of Modi and Shah, many will show their true colours.
Maybe a dumb question, but why is a so-called serious news outlets using hashtags as DeepStateDipke & CJPGoons?
It is a clear violation of press ethics to use that sort of language on something you arguably should cover objectively.
I hope everyone who called our CAA-NRC protests "non-peaceful" has realised by now that the "peacefulness" of a protest is not decided by the protesters, it's decided by how the state chooses to respond.
You know why the RSS BJP ecosystem hates protests?
Because standing up to a powerful government was never their tradition.
When the state came after them, they didn't lead protests. They wrote letters asking for mercy, promised to stay silent, and even assured the government of their support if released.
From Savarkar to Atal Bihari to the RSS chief during the Emergency, the script barely changed.
Maybe that's why they can't understand why others choose to protest instead of surrender.
Mainstream media is so controlled by the government that without social media, you wouldn't even know India is protesting for something. It's absolutely insane.
the cruel irony of something that happens to tribals, muslims and all marginalised communities all year long happening to kids of the middle class being the only way for the country to feel empathy and anger against the govt. is something to behold
Football is the game of the people.
It can be played in the streets of Buenos Aires, Lagos, Leeds or Lisbon with nothing more than a stone for a ball and jumpers for goalposts. It is the ultimate team game because it belongs to everyone.
Tonight’s World Cup final should have been a celebration of the beautiful game. Instead, it feels increasingly wrapped in razzmatazz: Robbie Williams and Tom Cruise, 30-minute half-time entertainment, hydration breaks, political interventions and ever more entertainment.
Football doesn’t need to become American football (and I love America Football). FIFA’s job is to protect the game, not reinvent it.
The beautiful game deserves better. @FIFA is no longer fit to be its steward and I hope @UEFA and the @FA will initiate a change.
