The SCC Community Helpline now has an SMS number 07860 053465, for people who are D/deaf or hard of hearing. Operating 9am - 5pm, Mon-Fri. A Textphone (via text relay) facility via 18001 0300 200 1008 and the Sign Language Video Relay service during the hours 8am and 6pm,
Even if you don't live near your vulnerable loved ones, you can still help them. Get in touch with them and make sure they know who to contact. If you're healthy and able, contact your local hub and volunteer to help. They'll tell you how to do so safely.

Councils across the UK are setting these up to help people who are shielding themselves because they're particularly high risk. There are 1.5 million people in this category who received a letter from the government last week.
