How do you move on from losing your number one source of strength and your number one fan? Maru Banaticla still has no answers.

Rushing her father to the ER, Maru Banaticla prayed so hard for the Lord to not take away the man who held her hand through all her heartbreaks, big and small.

With the pandemic forcing Maru Banaticla to work from their humble home in Laguna, no one was as excited as her father to have his baby home.

And then COVID hit the family.

In this part, Maru Banaticla briefly touches on the fall out she had with the coaches of the UST Tigresses and how her father reacted which all led to her falling out of love with the sport.

After experiencing the support of the UST community even during her HS days, Maru Banaticla shares she never considered transferring to another university.

#theywrite2 [2/7]: “Diba pangarap mong makalaro sa tabla (wooden floors)? Ito na ‘yun. Isang beses lang ito dadaan at hindi na babalik pa.”

Before becoming a champion in HS and college, little Maru Banaticla’s dream was to play on hardwood court.

Little did grade school Maruja Banaticla knows, two UST coaches were watching the game, ready to offer a chance of a lifetime.
