after all these years and generations, it is still the best book on the reality of startups
years ago i read an essay by an early stripe engineer on recruiting. i always remembered he ended the essay by saying he’d be interested in advising and/or investing in startups working on this. it’s been six years since that essay and we’re talking to him on wednesday.
the benefit of building something you're truly obsessed with is that you usually have a corpus of knowledge on the subject going back for years. which also means you indirectly know a lot of people that are also obsessed with it. this makes building a whole lot easier
