@Elywisteria just the culture it seems, if you master airbending as an air nomad you get the tattoos, if you master airbending as the avatar and you're not an air nomad/ from air culture you don't + it's expected from the avatar so it might not have the same weight for non-airbender avatars

@GrunnaXrp aang is far more interesting as a pacifist they are different avatars. its like bigging up kyoshi for sending chin into the sea vs being annoyed at roku for not doing the same for sozin. every avatar has their regrets

@kauljade granddaughter of aang spiritually air vs granddaughter of toph physically air ? we wont see it bc each new show needs to have the avatar as the MC it seems, why are the "seven havens" more interesting than the characters already established over two shows
