Thanks to a K500,000 grant received from TRALARD, Petelo Cooperative in Wapamesa community has built a piggery shed, acquired pigs, installed a solar-powered borehole, and started a vegetable garden. This has improved food security, crop sales, and access to clean water.
The Kabembe Community Forest Management Group, located in Chief Munkanta’s chiefdom, is dedicated to optimizing 3,500 ha of forest. Backed by the TRALARD project’s funding for alternative livelihoods, they now strive to improve income and food security for six villages.
