@AW_GBAtemp@JayrosModShop Yes, this one is a more modern port and uses the same underlying core as Duke3D. In the future, all PC ports will share the same core. But you're right, I need to clean up the repos.
Doom for openfpgaOS is now available:
- GPU-accelerated renderer
- Uncapped/interpolated rendering
- Adaptive display pacing
- MIDI using Roland SC-55 derived sound font
- Analog stick support (dock/analogizer)
- DeHackEd/BEX support for compatible WADs.

Thanks to @twicesliced, @AW_GBAtemp, vanfanel, cs-dutch, @PixelCNinja and @davewongillies for your help/support
@Bunshole95 PocketDoom is being deprecated. It was my first attempt. The new Doom core is faster, supports more WADs, and uses Roland SC-55 audio instead of OPL3.
@WozniakTer93845 Right now it’s only implemented for the Analogue Pocket. I’m currently working on the MiSTer port and will open-source the project once it runs well on both platforms and the documentation is clear enough to support any FPGA with 40k+ ALMs.
Now that openfpgaOS is stable, I've started porting Doom (again) to the Analogue Pocket.
Decades ago, when I played it, I had a Sound Blaster. I can only imagine how amazing it would have been for those lucky ones who had a Roland synth. Now you can play it like that in your Pocket!
Is it just me, or is the music of these games more memorable than any of the modern AAA games?
