@guygrieve Not to give too much credit, but am sure all of the key decisions for roll out of the vaccine were made by the health minister after provided with solid briefings from public servants and a blank cheque
Myself & George Monbiot spoke to the @guardian about the #Seaspiracy controversy over whether or not we should stop eating #fish. Who made the more sensible & balanced arguments? You decide! https://t.co/ZYFEnapELw #fishing#fisheries#seafood#podcast Please RT
@BD_Stew @RoweysFishing @1395FIVEaa Ahh that's where we're living. Missed the live session but will check it out online. Keen to know what Adelaideians think of it given the large and very public status and changes to some local fisheries here
The appeal of the Netflix hit is that it suggests there’s one solution to the ocean’s woes. That’s not true. A marine ecologist explains.

Here's a 3,000 word point-by-point scientific rebuttal to #Seaspiracy. Unlike the filmmakers, we dove into the science and data.

@mcsuk Please do keep providing your sustainable seafood advice! It's too easy for a movie to be portrayed as factual when only half the truth is told. In many cases, seafood can be the most sustainable protein around. Yes some need improving but don't throw baby out w bath water 😉
And just about anything can be portrayed as a conspiracy if you selectively present half the story. Can only hope viewers wore their critical analysis hats when viewing
Nice to see this more balanced piece: Marine organisations and experts react to hit Netflix documentary ‘Seaspiracy’ https://t.co/flvXFdH5Om Quite pleased they quoted my Twitter thread too! #Seaspiracy#fishing#fisheries#scicomm
Tuna fisheries are some of the biggest in the world and face substantial challenges in meeting sustainability targets. By using their buying power UK retailers like Tesco, can play a crucial role in driving much-needed improvements. We're happy to be part of this exciting program
@bejustnfearnot Thanks Andrew! Yes, it's all happened fairly quickly and with a lot of uncertainty due to covid and disruption of flights. Didn't want to mention much until I was actually on the plane. Been great working with you. Do stay in touch!
Hi Twittersphere. A quick update to let u know that I've moved to Australia to try my hand as a commercial fishery manager, so my profile and tweets will be changing somewhat. Thanks and may the 🐟 be with you 😉
'Basically, CCAMLR's approach to managing the krill fishery is to minimise the impact on the ecosystem rather than trying to maximise the size of the fishery'
