We're calling on @CollegeBoard to stand against the blatant racism that is happening in Florida by making AP African American Studies available online, so that every student & teacher can access it, regardless of where they live.

The College Board can protect AP African American Studies for FL students,@thinkfiveable founder @amandadoamanda is calling for @CollegeBoard to make the course available online https://t.co/wsn78D34Qx
@thinkfiveable founder @amandadoamanda is speaking boldly against the rejection of AP African American Studies, calling for @CollegeBoard to make the course available online. https://t.co/kwmLWrrUX9
6) Regardless of whether @collegeboard decides to step up, @thinkfiveable will be committed to supporting the course in its rightful entirety. More on this next week. 😎
AP African American Studies is a HUGE step forward considering the whitewashed AP US History & AP World History exams.
Remember when they removed pre-colonialism from AP World? 🙄 This new class brings back the African history that @collegeboard cut. https://t.co/YiE0yNhBVJ
If @CollegeBoard edits out important terms like “intersectionality” and “Black Queer Studies” from the AP African American Studies course, they will be complicit in the continued erasure and violence against these communities.
The @CollegeBoard needs to step up. Because it's not worth our time rationalizing the conservative demands, when College Board has the power to say no to racism.
But this is the precise moment that they always cave. I've seen it before.
White supremacists will always try to limit access to info b/c empowered groups of people will upend oppressive systems.
Other conservative governors will almost certainly pull similar stunts. @CollegeBoard should have expected this reaction & they need to respond in a big way.
🧵 I’m not surprised by DeSantis’ political stunt to reject AP African American Studies in Florida.
What matters now is how @CollegeBoard responds. They can fight such blatant racism by offering the course online to all, sidestepping local censorship.

I agree with @amandadoamanda of @thinkfiveable. The rejection of AP African American Studies is a racist stunt and @CollegeBoard should fight it by making the course available online. https://t.co/EFu6xYzOb6
AP African American Studies is an incredible opportunity for students to learn our history & it’s shameful – though not surprising – that Gov. DeSantis opposes this. Proud to support @AmandaDoAmanda of @thinkfiveable to call on @CollegeBoard to step up: https://t.co/f8aHOtL2S6
Once again, students are stepping up & fighting for their rights in Florida. Let's make sure they're not alone in this fight to keep #APAfricanAmericanStudies as an option for all students.
Keep going Victoria, Elijah, & Juliette, we're with you!
What about you @CollegeBoard?
‘I can’t believe this is 2023 and America is talking about censoring education’ — Florida local leaders and high school students came together Wednesday to decry Gov. Ron DeSantis’ attacks on an AP course in African American studies
And if any teacher who piloted AP African American studies this year has the curriculum to share, DM us. We want to make a free study guide to help students learn this important history.
