Pull-ups are challenging to learn.
It took me over three years before I mustered enough courage to start learning them.
To help you, I've put together the ultimate guide to pull-up progression.

The strongest Olympic lifters still warm up with the EMPTY bar.
The fastest sprinters on the planet still begin with A and B skips.
Yet you, Bill from finance, routinely step into the gym and go STRAIGHT to 225 on your squat and bench.
No surprise you’re weak, & always hurt.
Quit comparing ur chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 17
And don’t compare ur chapter 17 to someone else’s chapter 17
The chapters are irrelevant bc you’re reading 2 entirely different books written in completely different languages
Compare yourself to yourself
That’s it
You always hold the rights to your effort, but never to your results.
Results are entitled to no one. At best, they are on loan and must be renewed each day.
All you own is the right to try.
How to Make Fat Loss Suck Less
- Eat 1 big ass salad daily
- Drink water. A lot. Sparkling water to curb hunger
- 1lb of watermelon is only 140 calories. A whole POUND. Eat that shit.
- Quit rushing to lose as quickly as possible. The faster you rush the sooner you regain.
@JamesClear I'd say that How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie fits that category. Incredibly valuable lessons and it's easy to digest.
Forcing yourself to stick with a rigid diet or nutrition plan can only work for so long.
But, if you embrace the mindset of flexibility with your eating habits, you can make amazing progress in the gym, and, you know, keep your sanity and social life:

Dear @MyFitnessPal
I love what u do
A lot
Please, just 1 fix
Stop telling people to eat back the calories they "burned"
1) The tools used to measure calories burned are wildly inaccurate
2) People are trying to be in a calorie deficit and this is putting 'em in a surplus
Here are 4 tips I give everyone interested in flexible dieting:
-Aim for a caloric range, rather than an exact number.
-Track only protein.
-Do enjoy some of your meals out with friends. It’s not the end of the world.
-Don’t obsess over meal frequency; do what works for you.
In the past 2 weeks I’ve received over 2,000 messages from people thanking me for The BigMac Challenge and showing them they can enjoy their favorite foods in moderation w/o guilt.
To the coaches who say this is a dumb idea...I don’t give a flying fuck.
A set of 12 is a set of 12. The effort is there, and so is the volume. But training volume isn't the sole factor you need to look at for your fitness progress. Quality matters too.
Let’s take a look at the relationship between the two:

It remains questionable whether you have to train to muscle failure to maximize hypertrophy; what is not in question is that a high level of effort is required
