I think that the architecture design being so absurd to the point where its unsettling is one of my favourite things abt the series... the little privacy madoka has at her school and home shows how much agency she lacks in her life before becoming a magical girl
Madoka Magica is the funniest example of this because every time they redid a scene between the initial tv broadcast, blu ray release, and the compilation movies they made every background increasingly more ornate and hyper-detailed
Tau Ceti doesn't grieve its dead—it processes them.
Sterilized materials and fabricated-future details in the cryo-bags convey how loss is mere protocol. Treat death as infrastructure and it starts to look like inventory.

This feels like exactly the kind of design era I’ve been waiting for. More experimentation, fewer rigid rules, clients willing to explore unfamiliar territory. Pretty much everything I’ve always wanted from this job!
