It appears that way, given HHS Secretary RFK Jr.'s appointment of Yale professor emeritus Harvey Risch as chair of the President’s Cancer Panel within the National Cancer Institute.

Risch has long been a proponent of both medications, and in his new role, he will ensure rigorous studies on ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine as potential cancer treatments.

Risch also highlighted prevention’s underappreciated role in cancer therapy.

He suggested that pharmaceutical companies could develop safe, low-cost prevention medications they could patent.

Risch wants to enhance public information on reducing cancer risks, noting tobacco smoking as the top preventable lifestyle factor, and emerging dietary links like inflammatory foods.
