BOOM! More than 104,000 people are now employed in the UK's booming aerospace industry which contributed over £30 billion to the economy last year.

The figures are part of a wider report released by trade association ADS Group which reveals the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors added £38.2bn in value to the UK economy in 2023 - growth of 50% in the last 10 years.

Employment across aerospace, defence, security and space is up almost a third (29%) on 2013 figures, with 427,500 people employed in the sectors. Of these roles, 23,000 are apprenticeships.

The UK’s booming aerospace industry employs more than 108,000 people and contributes almost £11 billion to the economy each year. The 13,406-strong backlog of global aircraft orders is worth an estimated £209 billion to the sector.
