In a Huawei Transform Talks interview, Chris Heemskerk, Founder & CEO of The Innovation Alliance and former Head of Scaled Acquisitions at Google, shares perspectives on AI. He says companies need a clear strategy, not scattered pilot projects, to turn AI into a business driver.

Looking forward to delivering a two-hour Innovation Session & Panel feature at the Turkish Innovation Week on 10 & 11 October.
"Entrepreneurs must go all-in to succeed."
That's a lie. Here's the truth.
I told a single mom to keep her day job.
She asked me how to leave corporate and start her own business. My answer shocked her:
"Don't quit your job."
The 'burn the ships' mentality is dangerous, especially for those with dependents.
Here's what I told her to do instead:
Start your business nights and weekends. That's what we did with Quest Nutrition while running our tech company.
Get hyper-efficient with your time. Every minute counts when you're juggling work, family, and a side hustle.
Choose a business you're passionate about. You need to love it even when you're failing. Because you will fail. A lot.
Remember, the struggle is guaranteed. Success isn't. Don't risk everything on a maybe.
Keep your day job until your side business can cover your bills. It's not sexy, but it's smart.
Focus on your 'why'. A strong purpose will fuel you through the inevitable hard times.
Prioritize your health and family. Don't sacrifice everything for a business idea.
The "hungry entrepreneur" myth is just that – a myth.
Desperation doesn't breed success.
It breeds panic and poor decisions.
Smart planning, passion, and persistence do.
Building a business is a marathon, not a sprint.
Pace yourself.
What’s the worst piece of business advice you’ve ever heard?
I’ve built 3 multi-million dollar companies.
Across 3 wildly divergent industries.
How?
By following a simple formula, which I’ll give you in plain English at the end.
But if you skip forward, you’re going to fail.
@pmarca This is not about socialism. I think people don’t realize that this whole act helps crack down on the exploitation of these big labels. 800K streams generates significant economic value for them, and they’re not paying out their fair share to artists.

Don’t ban ChatGPT from the classroom. Educators must develop new assignments that guide students to find and refine their own voice in collaboration with AI tools. Schools must usher students to the future, not hide from powerful technological developments.
@TomBilyeu As a former leader at Google, I can tell you the axioms for these kinds of discussions are inherently flawed. It’s never binary (hard vs soft skills) but always measured on a continuum. How much, and to which extent. You need a solid mix of both. It’s never either/or.

Last week, I had the honor and pleasure to feature with an Innovation Keynote at the @aztechcouncil CEO Leadership Retreat at the Poco Diablo Resort.
Special thanks to Steven Zylstra and Darryle Emerson.
@pwlot That’s a populist claim.
MBA is just one form of business education. For measurability, in a meritocracy, let’s argue the ultimate indicator for business acumen is salary. Looking at their average salary versus non-MBAs they’re doing quite well. Exactly 2X income VS non-MBA.

One guy in a press release: "Maybe it's 26.7 billion years?"
