Going to start a series called case studies where I go over key concepts that play a huge part in my trading process.
Case Study #1: Less is more
Trading is meant to be mechanical: you set a SL + TP and you let price do its thing.
Had a fantastic entry on $IBKR Friday off the daily EMA crossover + daily hammer
I ended up stopping out this morning when price rejected $94 and the cons ended up going b/e
The problem here is that my usual process is breakeven stops go on after the first trim, never before.
I tried getting smart with it and ended up getting swept. In the grand scheme of things, price didn't even break under the daily 9.
By complicating the trade, I ended up doing more and gaining less.
You have to stick to your trade plan regardless of the PA in between.
4 best entry models for swing trading:
1. Breakout
Price breaks over a key level of resistance usually out of a big daily base
-Enter on the break above key level
2. 30m pivot pullback entry
Buying a strong leading stock when it pulls back to an EMA, trendline, or support zone.
Using the 30m pivot to confirm strength
-Wait for price to retest key level
-Wait for first 30m green candle to form off pivot
-Enter on break of 30m candle highs
3. Undercut and Rally
Price breaks down out of a base but fails to push lower instead reclaiming the lows of the base
This traps sellers, and forces early longs to stop out creating a big sweep
-Find a leading stock setting up in a big base
-Wait for the support level to break
-Reclaim of the key support level for entry
4. Anticipation Entry
Entering before a breakout, usually inside a tight consolidation where price gets super tight into the right side of the base
Price structure will be incredibly tight.. usually inside day being printed at the top of the base
-Enter near the end of the day on a strong close
I never cared about hitting big on individual trades.
The only thing I focus on is consistently compounding my gains over time.
When you compound properly, the big days have no choice but to come. As your account grows, your position size naturally increases, and with experience comes confidence.
Those are the two things that truly level up your trading: capital and confidence.
Focus on the process, stay consistent, and let compounding do the heavy lifting.
Nobody is coming to save you bro
that’s what makes being a man such fun
nobody is holding you back from going out there and getting what you want
its you against you
once you understand this
you level up beyond belief
I used to aim to make $100/day trading.
Now I aim to make $5,000/day.
I was able to due this because:
- I kept my size small until I saw consistency
- I focused on the process of my trades not the P&L fluctuations
- I journaled my trades daily & fixed my mistakes the next day
The greatest aspect of trading is the compounding.
The first month I became consistent I made $2,500
The next month I made $4,500
After 6 months I was making well over $50,000 a month.
Therefore, when your new don’t rush the process the profits will come.
people talk down on 9-5
but at the end of the day, at 5pm, you are done working.
when you are trying to get more in life and learning how to trade...
there is no "stop working"
everything you do is work.
reading is work, calling your parents is work, working out is work, backtesting is work, sleeping is work.
every habit you build outside of trading is you working toward the right direction.
there is no cut off time.
if you are expecting to trade for 10 mins on a laptop on a beach and make millions, i got new for you.
work never ends when you are working for yourself.
This trading plan made me a full-time trader…
It consistently makes me $5k-$10k trading only 1-2 hours per day,
And it’s so simple you can learn it in 2 minutes…
This trading plan will make you rich:🧵
Has anyone else realized that when you start working hard, eating well, competing with yourself and keeping your circle small you suddenly become lucky?
