Here's a film we made which highlights the need for early intervention systems like StudentCRT. 75% of people who take their own lives are unknown to professional services. @openforumevents https://t.co/b2xtZwa4Ep
A 2016 study found that around 115 people are 'exposed' to every suicide, and that those people are twice as likely to suffer depression or anxiety in their futures. There are around 6000 suicides in the UK every year. Reducing this should be a higher national priority.
Yesterday at #digifest2019 I learned that STEM is becoming STEAM, for Science, Technology, Engineering, *Art, and Mathematics. About time! Art is incredibly important - art and science go hand in hand and its significance in terms of wellbeing also must not be underestimated.
Result from #Digifest19 is that we will now work closely with @Jisc to help protect student lives with #StudentCRT - a great result for student wellbeing
StudentCRT works by helping responsible people contribute data and respond to it, by providing genuinely useful visualisations of it. In our vision, it's always people who act, the system we built just gets the right information to the right people's screen as quickly as possible
Interesting and important work. I want to see this combined with universities acting seriously about the PEOPLE who can contribute data about how students are doing and the PEOPLE who respond when concerns are raised. @Garethstudentwb@kclstudent
A shout out for fellow @pitchatpalace 10.0 company, @virtimed, who are also taking part in the @Jisc#digifest19 Edtech Startup Competition next week. Their product is about protecting lives as well, by improving training for healthcare professionals. Good luck guys!
Excited to be taking part in the Edtech Startup Competition run by @jisc at #digifest19 next week! The competition is for access to an accelerator programme to take our business to the next level and help protect more student lives with our award-winning product, StudentCRT.
The evening @TheDukeOfYork is hosting the #PitchAtPalace 10.0 final at Buckingham Palace.

Prof @andrewmarkwick has come up with a simple system that allows lecturers and other university staff to view and amend different data on the students that relates to their wellbeing https://t.co/yMyztsCDTt
