@annakhachiyan I used to have a lot of empathy for Pedro just because he really did get screwed by elements of the Trump coalition and he had done great work before that. But he couldn't pull out of the resentment-fueled nosedive that ensued and now a creature of resentment is all he can be.
Why do some of you care so much about what other people who have nothing to do with you and your life are doing and what happens to them? Why do you need this for yourself?
In twenty years nobody will know who CuriousBunnie12 is. It is highly plausible that my husband's name will be remembered in even two hundred years. Like it or not, he's shaping civilization.

Bloom was very hard on his colleague Clinton Rossiter for equivocating during the Cornell ’69 crisis. Rossiter tried to engage with the radicals and grant some of their demands, and Bloom refused to speak to him again.
Rossiter killed himself shortly after. Apparently in his final months he would walk drunkenly around campus trying to get colleagues to shake his hand. Probably he had reason to feel ashamed of how he had acted, but still, a tragic case.
