It’s that time of year when I get a few questions about Liberty herbicide tolerance in our @DEKALB_Canada corn hybrids. If you planted an Orange bag (SmartStax) or a Yellow bag (SmartStaxPro) you are safe with Liberty.
Here’s a handy reference sheet with reminders for staging T3 fungicide timing on winter wheat. ProsaroPro protects against fusarium head blight and leaf diseases including stripe rust. @Bayer4CropsCA
Corn is starting to pop quickly now. Corn planted on Friday is just about to spike thru in 5 days. Be mindful of pre emergent herbicides. If you’re considering our NEW Convintro Corn12 product, make sure there is no corn starting to spike. @Bayer4CropsCA
Last night at 10:30 pm temperature at 2” planting depth was 11.7 C. This morning at 6:30 there was a white frost, air temp was zero, planting depth temperature was 7.4 C.

Lots of discussion about planting corn into cool soils. I learned another example today, of how air temps will change quickly but soil temps stay steady. North Lambton County near the Lake @ 2pm-air temp 46.3F (8C). Soil temp at 2” planting depth 55.6F (13C) @dekalbcanada

Fight back against tough, resistant weeds before they emerge.
Convintro Corn 12 is the only Group 12 herbicide registered for corn in Eastern Canada, delivering early, one‑pass residual control and targeting problem weeds like waterhemp and palmer amaranth.
Undisturbed clay soil is 10 degrees (50 F) at noon. If the soil is fit, I say 🔨👇. Even if it’s fit and 7-8 degrees earlier in the morning it’s fine to get started. We are heading towards slightly warmer temps and the soil won’t cool down much over night @bayer4cropsCA
Doesn’t matter how many times I get ready for spring planting, it’s still exciting to get my first corn plot of the season in the ground. Found some sand west of Glencoe. Temperature at planting depth was 12 C (55 F). 🔨👇. @DEKALB_Canada
