@TheBFLSpeaks I don’t think shooting needs major changes but there are some elements that don’t make sense. Not sure about game modes but after testing, it’s been found 2K punishes you and shrinks your green window while on a hot streak. That’s a specific design I can’t agree with

Pro play and realism is not what’s ruining 2K online. It’s horrible game design like punishing shooting on a hot streak, OP steals, ghost contests, overmonetization, bad rep rewards, etc. Both arcade and sim enjoyers can agree all of that is trash #savethegame

But I stay tapped in with the online community and while I don’t agree realism and pro play ruined the game, I can def agree with shit like this. None of this is realism. It’s bad game design

@STEEZO_THE_GOD I don’t hate the shooting in this game but I won’t lie this is bullshit. You should not get a penalty for a hot streak. If anything you should get a buff lol. If there was no effect that’d be fine with me but a penalty!? These are the design choices I can’t agree with

Everyone arguing about whether the game should be sim or arcade including myself but I thought more about it and I have a question. Why can’t we have both? Whether park/MyPlayer is balanced completely separately or 2K makes a separate game. Why can we not cater to both audiences?

I like the realistic/sim gameplay but I was a Steezo and Eyeso fan first tbh. I think Cruz is also very good. Regardless of who would win, I don’t think it proves anything

@fuhdawrld I agree the defense is broken. That’s not pro plays fault. They balanced the game poorly and dropped a patch that made it worse. All these people blaming realism or pro play or wanna go back 10 years can’t adapt, and they complained back then too

They want momentum spam, basic 1 spin, OP post spin, D Book breakdown, left/right speed boost or whatever other cheese bullshit was in every older 2K. With no unique stepback or dribble style or post fade anis. Just 5-10 anis that run the whole game

We never wanted an arcade game. That was totally off the table.

The game we did before 2K with visual concepts was NBA action 98 for the Sega Saturn

The question was how realistic to do it versus making it accessible and fun

We were not doing the NbA Jam nor NBA Street. Those games were too unrealistic.

But the other games out back then were too boring because they were imitating basketball too much

We went for a balance of “easy to play, but hard to master”.

And that’s very hard to do. But we had a framework for it.

They’re both great players but them playing each other doesn’t prove anything. Still be a fun watch tho
