For everyone blaming this on PM Carney;
Seriously, if you actually want to understand what just happened with this trade deal, go read Trumpโs The Art of the Deal.
This last minute switcheroo isnโt some shocking new negotiating strategy.
Trump literally built his reputation around creating pressure, pushing for maximum leverage and making moves when the other side is under pressure.
And thatโs basically what just happened.
We were told a deal was close.
Then, at the last minute, the terms changed.
Carney looked at the new demands and said no.
Trumpโs administration says Canada walked away. Canada says the U.S. changed the deal and put forward terms that were unfair and uneconomic.
So when someone tells me, โTrust Trump. Heโll get the better deal,โ my question is:
Have you actually been paying attention to how this guy negotiates?
Iโll take the guy sitting across the table who is actually looking at the numbers and Canadaโs long term economic interests over someone who thinks every Trump pressure tactic is some kind of 4D chess.
Read the fucking book.
Then decide whoโs actually playing whom.
@TheHumanistHome @Kamscan@TruckBC This is also scary because I think it provides a small-scale glimpse of what will go down when the "big one" earthquake happens. Hopefully it's eye opening to more people to be somewhat prepared all the time for an emergency rather than after the fact.
Obviously I don't post very often but... #bcpoli#FirebreakAB Let's close that border for a few. Should have been closed before the stampede and stayed that way.
@RandomNameless1 @TheResi29618996 @TheBlueGem3 There are obviously a lot of factors involved but I think what the point was that they might not have even gotten the virus if there wasn't as many careless people spreading it rather than also doing what they could to protect themselves (and other people).
@angry_nj@voipms A DDoS is completely out of their control. It's just an unfortunate problem of how the internet is structured with bad actors able to use resources to try to shut down someone they don't like for whatever reason. It could happen with any Voip provider (or company for that matter)
@EdtheSock@aronseal Before the printing press it was mostly only monks who copied the books. After the printing press that "stole their jobs" the industry of writing things down exploded because of the nature of scale. The monks found other productive things to occupy their time with.
Here it is - internal memo/summary of meeting between BCWFS and forest ind. executives dated July 12th makes it clear BCWFS didnโt have sufficient resources. A prov. SoE wouldnโt be declared until July 20th. #Kamloops#BCWildfires#bcpoli
@fortninecanada I really dug your electric motorcycle video and was thinking about doing the same. Do you have it registered as an LSM and how did you go about that?
Re-tweeting from my backup phone - a Galaxy S3 and it's painful. My Pixel XL1 randomly bricked itself a few days ago. I'd love a Pixel 4 but am having trouble with the price tag of one right now. Hopefully boxing day (or this contest) brings some good deals my way. :-)
