Mckinsey just released a whopping 68 page research document on AI called "The Economic Potential of Generative AI: The Next Productivity Frontier"

AI could potentially add the equivalent of $2.6 trillion to $4.4 trillion ANNUALLY.

For reference, if you want 1 million ANNUALLY, that means you need to only get a 0.00003846% slice of the AI pie.

Yesterday I told you the focus should be on starting that business.

This will be a long one. I want you to become FULLY aware of the opportunity that lies before us and how and where you should focus to get the most out of the AI revolution.

1) 4 business sectors

Mckinsey says Generative AI has the potential to revolutionize 4 sectors the most: customer operations, marketing and sales, software engineering, and R&D.

In customer operations, generative AI can boost both the customer experience and the agent's productivity.
It can achieve this through using digital self-service features and by enhancing agents' skills.

In other words, AI can heavily replace CS – Chatbots are a prime example – it can also help customer agents get all the information from the business more readily available through internal chatbots and easier integration of internal systems.

In marketing, Mckinsey says it can save time by aiding in the creation of ideas and drafting content. It can also maintain consistency across various content types, amplify the use of data, improve SEO, and customize product discovery and search mechanisms. This could result in a productivity boost worth between 5 to 15 percent of the total marketing expenditure.

Easy and automatic content creation and publishing on different platforms – Either marketing teams will slim down, or there will be a 10X of content published.

Sales can also benefit from generative AI as it could assist in identifying and prioritizing sales leads, improve client engagement, and automate the follow-up process. This could increase productivity by about 3 to 5 percent of current worldwide sales spending.

No more lazy sales guys. Leads will come in via chatbots with clear intent, automated into their CRM and perhaps even automatically followed up.

In software engineering, generative AI can streamline the entire process, from the initial planning stages to system design, coding, testing, and maintenance. It has the potential to impact productivity to the tune of 20 to 45 percent of the current annual expenditure on this function.

20-45%, which to me feels like a flywheel effect, dev’s will be devving even harder, perhaps automating more and using more AI, which will make them more productive, which gives them more time to create etc. If they will still get their extraordinary salaries paid has to be seen though.

In R&D, generative AI can provide a productivity boost of 10 to 15 percent of overall costs. It can facilitate the design process and expedite the development of new products, such as drugs and materials.

And, of course, it talks about all the creative processes that will transform image generation, audio, and video. But this is something that most here are already aware of.

2) industries

Although EVERY sector will be affected, Mckinsey lists these 4 Industries as the most impacted:

Banking: Banks could be in for a big win with generative AI. We're talking an extra $200 billion to $340 billion yearly if they go all-in on this tech. It could take over many banking tasks, make risk assessments sharper, level up customer service, and give a personal touch to financial services.

High Tech: The high-tech world is the second sector to get a major boost from generative AI. It could speed up making new products, make building software smoother, make sense of data faster, and generally make things run more efficiently.

Life Sciences: Generative AI could be a game-changer in life sciences. It could speed up discovering new drugs, make diagnosing and treating patients better, make research and development processes slicker, and give a personal touch to healthcare services.

Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods: Generative AI could be a big deal in the retail and consumer goods scene, with a potential impact of $400 billion to $660 billion annually. It could improve supply chain management, improve inventory management, make shopping more personal for customers, and generally make things run more smoothly.
