Central Air Command (CAC) proudly organised the first-ever edition of the ‘Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2025’, a pan-India event dedicated to honour the supreme sacrifice and valour of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC (Posthumous) — the only Param Vir Chakra awardee of the Indian Air Force.

Over 8,000 participants — including Air Warriors, families and citizens — ran across nine CAC Stations in Agra, Bakshi-Ka-Talab (Lucknow), Bareilly, Bihta, Darbhanga, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Memaura and Prayagraj, celebrating fitness, unity and the indomitable spirit of IAF. At Agra, the event was flagged off by the Senior Air Staff Officer of HQ CAC, Air Marshal PV Shivanand AVSM, VM who also participated in the event to inspire all. At the remaining eight locations, the Air Officer's Commanding the AF Station flagged off the marathon and distributed medals and prizes at end of the event.

The event featured 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km runs, promoting wellness, camaraderie and national pride among all age groups. Supported by the civil administration, the marathon embodied discipline, teamwork and patriotism.

The #SekhonIAFMarathon2025 is not merely a sporting event — it is a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon PVC, thereby inspiring citizens to carry forward his rich legacy.
