When Ukraine gave up its third nuclear arsenal, the US guaranteed security. Now, when Russia attacks Ukraine, the US is siding with the aggressor.
The deal has been broken.
There are no more restrictions.
This is the sort of garbage currently circulating at the sewer end of the internet. Even Elon Musk’s very own fact checker says it’s all bollocks. I don’t know if people get paid to peddle these lies — or if lying just comes naturally to them. Either way they pollute public discourse.
When America invoked Article 5 after 9/11, almost whole world showed up — including Ukraine, a country not even in NATO.
And now? You MAGA fuckers wanna abandon them?
Mark my words — karma’s coming. You’ll be remembered as nothing but traitors wrapped in cheap Chinese flags.
My message to all the Putin apologists out there giving me abuse…
…Do not lecture me on war! I’ve experienced it, intimately, far too many times. I’ve seen and experienced and been through the indescribable suffering it inflicts. Those experiences still visit me in my dreams and, frequently, hit me unexpectedly from the flank during the day when least expected, triggered by a voice, sound, smell or nothing at all. They are ghosts that haunt me, but that I’ve learnt to live with. They are now a part of who I am.
My heart breaks for what I’ve seen and experienced, and I cry, often.
So, do not be so ignorant, arrogant and egotistical as to lecture me about war, or to call me a warmonger. I despise war. But also know that peace is worth fighting for and I have always been and I still am
prepared to stand between those who would do harm and those to whom they would do it. Would you?
I am also realistic and I know that, no matter how much we may want it not to be so, there will always be those who you have to stand up to. You have to hold the line and defend right from wrong, good from Evil.
What I know, but some people seem afraid to accept, is the difference between right and wrong. In this war it is Putin who is wrong.
I also know, given his track record that Putin’s word cannot be trusted, and it is beyond me why anyone would side with the aggressor (Putin) against the victim (Ukraine) simply because you don’t want to stand up to the aggressor. It shows complete lack of moral courage.
I also wonder why people who know they have no direct knowledge or experience of Ukraine, the situation, or the Russian leadership, suck up all the Kremlin’s propaganda and deny any of the extensive evidence, proof even, that it is false
Finally, my own opinion is that Zelensky is right, reasonable and entirely sensible in asking for security guarantees as part of any peace agreement. Perhaps you could explain to me why you think that is unreasonable.
I stand with the Ukrainians, with their President, and indeed, with the ordinary Russian people who are having to live under Putin’s oppressive regime. I stand not for myself or my interests, but I stand for right against wrong.
📸 No one follows more etiquette rules than the Royal Family—but notice how King Charles didn’t make any smart-ass or demeaning comments about Zelensky’s attire today.
Why? Because respect isn’t about clothes—it’s about character. And that’s something money can’t buy.
@AngelaRayner You seem more concerned about ‘hate crime’ than you do about the mass rape of white working class girls, to be frank.
Let’s have a ‘working group’ on that.
@Nigel_Farage It was awful to watch.
I'm all for them not funding the war but trying to make out Ukraine is the problem is pitiful.
He should be telling Putin to withdraw back to his own country.
