Merry Christmas from AMZ Training Hub! 🎄
Thank you to every client who trusted us this year and in the years before. We don’t take that lightly.
Proud of our Filipino VAs showing up with excellence every day.
Wishing you rest and a strong start to the new year. 🤍✨ #GoBeyond
Reminder to anyone with a VA in the Philippines:
Culturally, it is assumed their employer will pay them a one-month bonus in December.
Most employees count on this every year.
Treat your team well. Pay the bonus.
Met a Filipino VA on Upwork who was charging $4/hour
Hired her to reply to Facebook comments
Three weeks later she asked:
"Boss, why you not post same product Tuesday and Saturday?"
I was confused: "What do you mean?"
She sent me a spreadsheet she made
WITHOUT me asking:
Every post I made for 8 weeks Organized by day posted With reach, engagement, and sales tracked
Her observation:
Pet products posted on Tuesday: Average reach 180K
Same pet products posted on Saturday: Average reach 52K
Home products posted on Saturday:
Average reach 210K
Same home products posted on Tuesday: Average reach 67K
She found a pattern I completely missed:
Tuesday = pet product day (algorithm pushes it harder)
Saturday = home product day (algorithm pushes it harder)
No idea why. But the data was undeniable.
So I tested it for 4 weeks:
Only posted pet stuff on Tuesdays
Only posted home stuff on Saturdays
My average reach per post went from 89K to 174K
SAME CONTENT. JUST DIFFERENT DAYS.
Then she said:
"Boss, you always post 11am. Why not test 4am?"
I was skeptical but tried it
4am posts: 201K average reach
11am posts: 87K average reach
This $4/hour VA found a $40K/month opportunity
Just by tracking patterns I was too lazy to notice
I immediately gave her a raise to $2,000/month
They'll come from people doing the boring work you ignore
The VA seeing 1,000 posts per month spots patterns you CAN'T see
Hire people who touch your data daily
Then actually listen to them
Happy Thanksgiving! 🧡
We are grateful to every AMZ Training Hub client who continues to trust and partner with us. Your support fuels our growth and gives more Filipino VAs the chance to shine.
Thank you, truly.

Someone thanked me today for sharing blessings during our barangay’s Trick or Treat 🎃
I told her—it’s all God’s doing, not mine to boast. Just happy to give, even in simple ways. 💛

It’s been a shit year.
I wasn’t gonna share this but hopefully it might stop someone getting scammed by their home insurance.
Rewind six months ago.
Why is my next door neighbour calling me? Bit weird.
“Mate your house is on fire…”
Fuck.
By the time I got back it was already too late. Smoke billowing from the windows. A crowd forming outside the house I’d locked up just half an hour ago. Without thinking I opened the front door and was blown back by thick black smoke.
After what seemed like an eternity (it was actually 5 minutes) the distant sirens became louder and louder and the fire brigade arrived. They were brilliant to be fair, ruthlessly efficient. After putting the fire out and a quick walkaround of the now derelict building I used to call home, they left me to it.
Everything was fucked. The entire house and all of its contents were beyond repair due to the damage from the fire itself, the heat, the smoke, the thousands of gallons of water pumped in by the fire brigade, or any combination of the above. All I had left were the clothes on my back.
Then the real fun began…
I called my home insurance to start the claim. This is what kicked off what was easily the most difficult period of my life, waiting to find out if they were even going to pay out. There was no middle ground. Either I would get my house restored, contents replaced, and alternative accommodation paid for… or, they would find a reason to wriggle out of it, and I’d be on my own with nothing to my name apart from a half-destroyed house now worth less than the mortgage I still had to pay.
I completely understand why it took so long, they have to do their due diligence because insurance fraud is a thing. But I was in a pretty bad place during this period (and I don’t just mean the UK…), I kept having to return to let various people inspect the damage, every visit another painful reminder of what had happened, and the uncertainty of what was to come.
During this period, I hired a ‘Loss Assessor’ who put a leaflet through my door the day after the fire. These guys are accused of being ‘fire engine chasers’ but if you get a good one they’re worth their weight in gold. They deal with the insurance claim on your behalf, which massively reduces the stress as everything goes through them instead of you, and they also maximise the claim as they know the right things to say to the insurance company and what you are and aren’t entitled to. They just take a cut at the end so are effectively 'no win no fee', and mine has been brilliant.
After six long weeks of being in the dark, finally it was confirmed that they would be paying out. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. This is where it started getting interesting…
I had to list out every single individual item that was in my house on a spreadsheet… from food containers to underwear to my collection of original Picasso paintings which were sadly destroyed (joking…), and put an estimated value next to each item.
Here’s the thing though… you know on your home insurance renewal, it asks you to estimate the total value of all your contents? And the estimated costs to rebuild your house from scratch? Which are finger in the air guesses at best, using the insurance’s own deflated ‘estimates’ at worst… Well suddenly they become gospel.
If your house burns down, you tot up your contents and you’ve got £50k worth of stuff, but you’ve put down an estimated £15k on the form you took 10 seconds to fill out? You won’t get a penny over £15k. The same principle applies to the rebuild cost of the building itself.
If you’ve made it this far, please take 5 minutes to double check that you’re not screwing yourself over on your home insurance. I bet you have no idea what you’ve got put down for these figures, which will be used as the definitive figures to rebuild your life with if a disaster happens… If in doubt, ROUND UP, it’s much much better to overestimate than to underestimate. In fact if you underestimate by too much, not only do you not get paid out what you actually need to rebuild your life, they’ll only give you a % of the number you declared as a further punishment…
Aaand it gets worse. For my policy, the amount I pay covers me for up to £100k of contents cover. So whether I had put down my estimated contents value as £5k, £20k, £50k or £99k my monthly premium would have been the same! But if I’d put down £5k, they wouldn’t have paid me out a penny more. So have a play around with the figures to see how much raising it affects the monthly premium, you’ll probably be surprised how little it does, if at all…
Thankfully the numbers I put down were pretty accurate to the true values of the contents and buildings, but it could easily have been very different. Obviously home insurance is something that you hope to never have to use, but if a disaster happens and then you don't get fully compensated because of a number you guessed at or had pre-populated could completely ruin your life… apparently this happens A LOT.
So yeah… that’s why I’ve been a bit quiet recently, but I hope that by sharing my insight into the murky world of insurance claims that it might help someone not get screwed over in the future.
Thanks for reading. I hope you never have to go through anything like this, but please take 5 minutes to check your insurance policy so that if the worst does happen you get a fair settlement to rebuild your life with. I got lucky.
If you’re not tracking numbers, you’re guessing.
If you’re doing everything yourself, you’re capping your growth.
If you’re not building systems, someone else will outrun you.
Harsh truth. But fixable. Start building smarter 👉 https://t.co/pLJ1nnt8y0
