I like that RPG games are like real life in that you're probably not gonna accomplish much if you're not willing to learn new skills and take on bigger challenges.
Sometimes when I'm procrastinating about something I know I need to do, I try "sprinting to the starting line." Basically commit to starting as soon as possible while ignoring the internal voice that's giving me reasons to wait.
The type of people I spend time with matters so much. Such a different energy when I'm around motivated creative people vs unmotivated complainers. Those energies are contagious.
I've been writing way better songs these days because I've been focused on making them good instead of focusing on play counts/view counts/what anyone's gonna think of them.
When I'm paralyzed by a fear of failure, I try to remind myself that I'm failing by staying still. I might as well take action and give myself a chance to win.
I can't expect my challenges to magically get easier. The focus has to be on becoming the type of person who can overcome and, eventually, destroy those challenges.
When I feel tired or like I want to procrastinate, I often ask myself "who are you gonna be?" I try to attach the little decisions in the moment to my bigger goals.
When I write music, I don't like 95% of what I come up with. I'd usually get discouraged because of that, but what if I just focused on/saved/built on the 5% that I like?
