4-day work weeks this summer had measurable impact on the mental health and well-being of our teams. I have been having conversations with some execs and keep hearing the same rhetoric: 4-day work weeks are earned once you become a billion dollar company.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in building a $4B company:
It’s all about the people.
I’m thrilled to announce today that Bolt is the first tech unicorn to officially shift to a 4 day work week.
Here’s why we did it and how we came to the decision 👇👇👇
The exciting thing? This is just the beginning! We’ve committed to continuously research and iterate on our offerings. We are not waiting for best remote work practices, we are creating them.
Working from home in a pandemic is not the same as remote work. The companies that get this right will focus on every aspect of their teams health: financial, physical, mental, and environment. How did we do this at @hashtagpaid? OK, I’ll share⬇️:
Our favourite initiatives so far:
-$140 a month on internet + phone subsidies
-Snack budgets and social committees
- 2K annual learning budget
-2 mental health days offline + 4 day work weeks this summer
- No internal meetings on Fridays
- Biweekly meditation + 1:1 coaching
@itsrishabh You mean happy, well rested humans leads to better work!? It’s funny how we know this to be true, yet we dance around putting this in to practice. IMO companies that get this right will be category leaders.
