Paxton’s prosecutors initially offered a very lenient deal (as low as 1 day in jail, according to reports). The judge (visiting Judge Roy Sparkman) rejected that, pushed back, and the final agreement before him was for 30 days. Paxton is a piece of human scaffolding with ZERO morals.

Jesus described a radically different world than the one we built in His name. Feed the hungry. Welcome the stranger. Heal the sick. Visit the prisoner. He said that’s the whole test - not what you profess, but what you do for “the least of these.”

But no one really listened to Him, including and, especially the Christians. I see too many of us with a mouthful of scripture and a heart full of hate.

Texas calls itself a Christian state. Fine. Then let’s use the actual measuring stick. Matthew 25, not the donor list.

@jamestalarico is literally in seminary. You can disagree with his politics. But don’t tell me who the real Christian is in this fight - go read the Sermon on the Mount and check the scoreboard yourself.
