SS isn’t “solvent” because of clever accounting. It’s a pay-as-you-go Ponzi propped up by borrowing from the general fund (i.e., future taxpayers). Demographics + your endless expansions = insolvency.
Fix it with real reform, not by punishing success while pretending the gov didn’t squander the surplus.
The idea that Elon Musk bears primary responsibility for funding your expansive social programs is peak Washington delusion.
Congress and the Pentagon have never passed a clean audit - trillions spent with zero accountability, endless waste, and failure after failure. That’s your problem to solve, not his.
“Tax the rich” is the laziest, most predictable cop-out imaginable. Fix the fiscal dumpster fire first. Then maybe you can talk.
Paxton’s prosecutors initially offered a very lenient deal (as low as 1 day in jail, according to reports). The judge (visiting Judge Roy Sparkman) rejected that, pushed back, and the final agreement before him was for 30 days. Paxton is a piece of human scaffolding with ZERO morals.
@tedcruz Well, our other option is a piece of human scaffolding that was impeached by his own party. There isn’t a serious politician left in Washington.
Jesus described a radically different world than the one we built in His name. Feed the hungry. Welcome the stranger. Heal the sick. Visit the prisoner. He said that’s the whole test - not what you profess, but what you do for “the least of these.”
But no one really listened to Him, including and, especially the Christians. I see too many of us with a mouthful of scripture and a heart full of hate.
Texas calls itself a Christian state. Fine. Then let’s use the actual measuring stick. Matthew 25, not the donor list.
@jamestalarico is literally in seminary. You can disagree with his politics. But don’t tell me who the real Christian is in this fight - go read the Sermon on the Mount and check the scoreboard yourself.
@KenPaxtonTX Why did your office offer a plea deal in the Waco child sex abuse case that the presiding judge, the McLennan County DA, and Rep. Pat Curry have all publicly criticized? Texans deserve an answer before the runoff.
