@BretonBrander @LoneEggYT Also not sure how you did the tail but if it's in the same shape layer you can use the shape transform controls instead of the layer controls to do the opacity for the whole shape in one place

@BretonBrander @LoneEggYT There's also ways you can essentially pin it to corners if you set your 0,0 anchor point to a corner. This makes the math easier and then you can start parenting new bubbles for a chain of new messages offsetting the position by a controlled y-value

@ae_screens only downside is if you use shape transform controls instead of layer transform controls it gets wacky. you could always link all the properties in the matte to the properties in the parent, but that'd take some clicks. maybe worth writing a script if you plan to do it a lot.

@ae_screens you could then add a color control on your text and connect it to the fill on your matte layer and control the color from one layer... then just hide the matte and forget about it since layer 3 (blue) is the shape that we are contrasting against
