They just weren't as ev*l as the Europeans, and they know what the Europeans did to the Russians before 1945, so they helped liberate the remaining Jews from Europe's death camps. It's just the byproduct of the Red Army's victory.

As far as I know, Europeans don't consider the Russians as one of them. Look at how the Allies embraced the Germans but turned against the Russians after WW2.

All other Europeans directly participated in carrying out the holocaust. The Russians came across the camps and saved the remaining jews.
