A note from the staff.
We are pausing new episodes on @Spotify until Spotify explains something to us. Here is what happened.
Being turned down for monetization is not the problem. That is Spotify's call to make. The problem is the reason they gave.
We applied for Spotify's monetization program. Their own dashboard says applications take about a week. Ours sat for over a month with no answer, so we contacted support. It took almost two weeks, and three tickets, to get a reply, and the reply was that they were looking into it.
We then left Spotify a 1-star review describing that experience. Two days later, our application was denied for "abuse of monetization services."
We have never been monetized on Spotify. You cannot abuse a monetization service you were never given. The reason they gave us is not true.
We don't want to keep posting somewhere we are lied about. So until Spotify explains how a show that was never monetized abused monetization, nothing new goes up there.
