The woman’s bait - Part 15 // Marital Drama
During a debate, when someone feels challenged, it takes a great deal of humility to concede defeat. Many times, self-preservation kicks in, and they shift the discussion from the matter at hand to a personal matter. “So, you’re saying I don’t know anything,” they might say.
The jungle is a challenging environment. Animals have to feed themselves and stay alive at the same time. But don’t worry about them; every animal you still see in existence is a winner. God hasn’t created new animals in a long time, so every animal you see today has survived since creation.
To survive, different animals have developed unique tricks. My favorite is the pufferfish. When a predator tries eating it, it puffs up and increases in size, forcing the predator to leave it alone. The same is true with the man and woman in a marriage. Each of them has a line of ancestry that goes back to creation, and each of those descendants has passed on a skill to increase the lineage's survival.
The shifting of goalposts in a debate is an inherited survival tactic. There’s a Luganda adage that says, “One chasing his fellow man should always leave him room for escape.” People are unpredictable when their survival is on the line. Whenever I see my opponent shifting goalposts, I know they fight for survival. That’s when I take my foot off the accelerator and then devise means of stopping the car without shocking the passenger with sudden braking.
People don’t like losing. A person who loses can feel pain comparable to one who has been physically hurt. For a married person, it doesn’t benefit you much when your partner loses; the unpleasantness in the room will outshine the joy of your win. Therefore, one desirous of peace needs to have the wisdom to know when to win and when to lose. Otherwise, you might win the battle and lose the war. And to put it plainly, you might win the debate and lose your marriage.
This guy at work has fainted because he has just discovered that his girlfriend had a kukyala on Saturday. She had told him that she was busy on Saturday coz they had visitors at home, a get together party of her relatives. 😅
#TheVoiceAfrica: As hard as it is to sing in Luganda when you are not a Muganda from Uganda, Sabik Intchirwak Abou from Niger took on the risk with Jose Chameleon's song "Forever". You need to watch him perform.

@Khal_UG@nbstv Health centre 3s and above have IT systems that are constantly fought by both ministry and the facility staff. I do know of facilities that have vandalized IT equipment so they are not caught!
@nbstv NGOs are working hard to have health systems at the facilities but it's unfortunate that despite these innovations facility staff are demotivated by their pay, staffload, and availability of drugs
This what USA wants Africa to be turned into. Sodom and Gomorrah is a no in Africa no one was born gay or lesbian in kenya let's all fight Homesexuality. Congratulations Uganda for standing firm against #LGBTQ
After listening to that Frank Gashumba audio about his daughter Shiela Gashumba, I have learnt that people are very good pretenders in public, Happy and all fine in public yet in reality they are unhappy…
