I watched The Odyssey today on IMAX as the good lord intended.

Fucking fabulous film. Visually it was spectacular and the music is just 🤌 Ludwig Göransson is truly a generational talent. I look forward to seeing the cast and crew reuniting over awards season 😂

1. HADES SCENE:
the actors were buried beneath the ground with snorkels breathe through, allowing them to slowly emerge from the earth on camera. Not CGI.

2. THE CYCLOPS:
it's a 20-foot-tall puppet, which was built by the same artist who created TARS, the fan-favorite robot from Interstellar.

3. THE SHIP
Christopher Nolan had a 115-foot ship built i for the film so the cast could actually sail it instead of pretending on a soundstage.

My biggest takeaway from this Hip Hop interview is something that I’ve always known, but it’s nice to be reminded of.

Jay-Z/Roc-A-Fella/Roc Nation have been immensely important and influential to hip-hop, music, and culture in general for the past 30 years.

The Roc family tree has extended far beyond the artists who are typically associated with the label.

They have helped shape the entire industry and have directly or indirectly influenced everyone.

From artists, producers, engineers, A&Rs, artists management, publishing, songwriters, executives, business, fashion, sports, etc.

Everyone has either signed to them directly, have been managed by them, or have sought their guidance to get their affairs in order.

And they’ve always been there to help. Even when there’s nothing for them to gain and they’re used as scapegoats for someone else’s bad decisions.
