We can't stop climate change. So why are we making ourselves poorer trying?
If we want flood defences, resilient infrastructure, and the ability to adapt to a changing climate, we need a prosperous economy first.
Instead, we're pursuing policies like Net Zero that make us poorer, while the planet continues to warm because the world's biggest emitters have no intention of following our example.

Journalist to filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel: "Why is your new film 'The Promised Land' 100% Nordic? ... no Black people, no diversity."
Mads Mikkelsen: "Hmmm, well, the film is set in Denmark in 1750."

Friendly reminder that I recently released Kenney Solitaire which is a free game both playable in the browser or downloadable without any of the nonsense that competing solitaire games come with!

FGED volumes 1 and 2 each had crowd funding campaigns that provided a way for supporters to get perks like acknowledgments in the books, autographed copies, and licenses to my software. I wasn't planning to run a campaign for FGED3, but I understand some people would still like access to these perks this time around, and I'd be willing to run a campaign to make them available. What do you think?

In April we promised https://t.co/Vrhr7uFRLz to create a place for #XLibre on #ArchLinux. With up-to-date binary packages and technical information. We've got it now: https://t.co/hj5VvTc8D6. Please provide feedback if you run into any issues. We'll take care of them for sure.
Microsoft confirms Windows 11 has a nasty storage bug that can silently eat hundreds of GB from your C: drive.
If Settings > Storage > System & reserved shows System files using 100GB, 200GB, or even 500GB, random downloads may not be the problem.
A protected file called CapabilityAccessManager.db-wal can grow out of control, and it's found inside:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\CapabilityAccessManager\
This file is tied to Windows privacy/access logging for things like camera, microphone, location, and screen capture. Normally, it should be a few MB. On affected PCs, users have reported 70GB, 110GB, 200GB, and even 513GB.
Microsoft quietly fixed it in KB5095093, saying the update “improves disk space usage” for this file. The fix should also arrive automatically with July 2026 Patch Tuesday.
