@TDavenport_NFL I have railed furiously against this trade BUT:
– Not annoyed Borgonzi wouldn’t name a “face of the franchise”. This team is 1-6 and that is a marketing question (as contrasted with the Q on leadership.) Would be weirder if he had a definitive answer.

Joshua Williams will stay.
Jake Martin will too given price for that position.
I understand why Hooker’s not on this list, but it would baffle me if he goes. Given contract / position, won’t garner meaningful trade compensation. You’re not trying to go full Dolphins tank mode either.

I’ve counted 15 players that I can confidently say will be back next year.
Ward (in some capacity)
Latham
Skoronski
Carmona
Slater
Tate
Ayomanor
Dike
Helm
Winston
Hill
Gray
Femi
Faulk
Harris

“With that sort of haul, both in draft capital and cap space, Borgonzi, Ziegler and Saleh figured they could add six to 10 young players over the next couple of years.”
The trade itself nets you two draft picks. So where do the extra 4 to 8 players come from? Spending ~$26million or so per annum in open market on young players and/or converting one of those first rounders into 2-3 picks?
The chances that helps in ‘27 or ‘28 vs having a player of Simmons gravity just aren’t that high.
"Guys, I'm gonna cut to the chase. We just traded Jeff."
Inside the @Titans' decision to move all-world DT @GrindSimmons94, why the @ChicagoBears were the right suitor, and how the team handled the aftermath with a locker room that LOVED their star.

He has two full years in the NFL as a top 15 or so edge rusher and is 25 years old. A meh stretch of 7 games in a new scheme does not have me writing him off or thinking his Rams performance was fugazi.
Now compare that with the projection usually involved in players drafted 20-32…
By PFF grade (positional rank): Tony Pollard, JC “The Kraken” Latham and “Giorgio” Amani Hooker.
By trade value: Carnell Tate, The Kraken and watch out for Joshua Williams.
By legs: Carmen “Tina Turner” Bricillo.

@superitachix@scottiloss@TonyGrossi I don’t disagree BUT my point is Verse is still playing better this season than, say, Malachi Lawrence…and there’s proof of concept he can be an excellent NFL player. You’d take that over a Keldric Faulk or Shemar Stewart any day.
@spread1e_gibbs@ThunderingIce22@Titans Don’t spare Ran Carthon!
Obviously agreed Jon Robinson lost the plot at the end but he also has more Ws than Borgonzi to date and at the equivalent stage of his reign.
@salmanfredi Fellow Jersey Titan guy here howyadoin.
Drafting is really hard.
Part that is upsetting here is Borgonzi keeps saying no one was being shopped..trade came about in like 12 hours. PROCESS WAS BAD.
Trade deadline is more than a week today. Borgonzi said he got the call from Poles last night. Trade done this morning.
WTF? B/w the above and the pre-existing relationship of Poles and Borgonzi…this has Luca Doncic trade stink all over it.
