The dedicated, talented, and compassionate men and women of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services continue to tirelessly to run down hundreds of thousands of leads and work numerous investigations to locate more than 300,000 unaccompanied alien children that the Biden Administration turned over to unvetted sponsors, lost track of, and weren’t looking forward. Through their outstanding efforts, they have so far been able to locate more than 145,000!

President Trump promised that we would find these children, and under his strong leadership and with his unwavering support, the patriots at these, and other partner, agencies have been—and will continue to do—just that.

Today I met with Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and top law enforcement officials to discuss the issues on the ground in Minnesota. We all agree that we need to support our law enforcement officers and get criminals off the streets. While we don’t agree on everything, these meetings were a productive starting point and I look forward to more conversations with key stakeholders in the days ahead. President Trump has been clear: he wants American cities to be safe and secure for law-abiding residents — and they will be.

ICE conducts targeted operations to enforce federal immigration laws that have existed for decades, and they do it with the utmost professionalism. They don’t choose who gets deported, the law and federal judges do. They didn’t pass the laws nor can they change them. If you don’t like the laws, take it up with Congress. That’s their constitutional duty…ours is enforcing them.

Earlier today, I met with officers of the Collin County Sheriff’s Office who were assisted by ICE with serving search and arrest warrants for two illegal aliens from Honduras wanted by the state of Texas for homicide. ICE lodged immigration detainers on the aliens while they remain in the custody of the county pending homicide charges.

When ICE and state/local law enforcement work together, these are the results—public safety threats off our streets. We appreciate our state and local law enforcement partners who work with us to make our communities safer. President Trump promised the American people that we will do just that, and we are not backing down… only ramping up.

As I repeatedly have said, the brave men and women of ICE are heroes. Like all Americans, our officers have a right to self defense. Full stop.

As the year comes to a close, we still have the most secure border of my lifetime thanks to the unwavering leadership of President Trump and his dedication to making America safe and prosperous. Recently, I was able to travel with CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott to several sites along the SW Border to thank those on the frontlines who made this achievement happen and continue to work tirelessly every day to protect our country and ensure the border is secure. It was my honor to join Texas Governor Abbott, along with Virginia Governor Younkin, Tennessee Governor Lee, Nebraska Governor Pillen, and Missouri Governor Kehoe, to serve an early Thanksgiving dinner to TX National Guard troops, Texas State Troopers, and Border Patrol agents stationed on the SW Border. They do amazing work to help President Trump achieve the most secure border in the history of this Nation. A secure border means a drastic reduction in fentanyl that kills Americans, sex trafficking of women and children, known or suspected terrorists entering this country, and deaths for those making that dangerous journey. Under President Trump’s leadership, thousand of lives are being saved. Strong border security results in stronger national security. This success is unprecedented.
