The Barbie movie was a litmus test that illustrated two kinds of minds.

People who thought the movie was pure feminist propaganda are captured by the political mind, and can only process experience in culture war categories.

People who could see the movie as being about a much deeper process of human awakening and growth could do so because they are able to think in mythic and symbolic terms.

In our time, the political mind has driven out the mythic mind almost entirely and left our culture in crisis.
