Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. The Bible can and should be studied objectively in public schools as one of history's most valuable documents.

It offers corroborated accounts of ancient Near Eastern and Roman events, people, and cultures alongside its unmatched literary influence and role in shaping Western law, ethics, human rights, education, science, and art.

This is entirely distinct from treating it as sacred scripture or the doctrinal basis for Judaism, Christianity, or any denomination's faith practices.

Under longstanding Supreme Court precedent, such neutral academic teaching about the Bible's historic and literary qualities is explicitly permitted as part of a secular curriculum, while devotional promotion of religious doctrines from any organized church is barred.

Objective study builds cultural literacy without indoctrination. Excluding it entirely from public education risks cultural illiteracy. Homeschooling is great for deeper dives into the Bible for religious faith, but public schools shouldn't sideline this foundational text.

Tucker is a celebrity, and all celebrities provide entertainment as part of their presentation. His diabolical laugh, his overly serious posturing and his nice guy personality all came from somewhere and each has a purpose. The subtle fear based aspects that you don't see are the ones running the show.

Celebrities all have a certain level of fear of being in the public eye, because they are constantly exposed to so many crazy and possibly violent people.

Watching Charlie murdered in such a gruesome public fashion had to affect Tucker. Apparently he feels that creating alliances with the groups most likely to kill you is a necessary career/survival move.

Muslim rulers during the Ottoman period were not "very kind" to Christians. JD Hall's claims about no taxation of churches, exceptional kindness, and consistent protection of holy sites is a very selective and misleading oversimplification.

Ottoman treatment of Christians was a mix of exploitation, pragmatic tolerance, institutionalized discrimination and outright persecution These actions are typical of dhimmi status under Islamic rule.

Quran 9:29 instructs fighting "People of the Book " including Christians and Jews, until they pay the jizya/tax with willing submission, and "feel themselves subdued." Islam was/is about dominance and forced compliance.

I don't know why JD Hall has chosen to interpret the Ottoman era as one of kindness, because it certainly wasn't. It was a violent, direct attempt to conquer Christians and eliminate Christianity. For Tucker Carlson to willingly and without question accept Hall's distorted rendering of history is very telling indeed.
