The Modern Game Industry Cycle
1. A studio creates an awesome new IP with a strong male lead. Gamers love it, and the game becomes a massive success.
2. The woke crowd notices its popularity and gets furious calls it “problematic” appeal.
3. Activists and like-minded hires take over key creative roles, gatekeeping passionate traditional artists out of the industry in favor of ideological fits.
4. The sequel launches with the original male protagonist replaced or sidelined by a female character. The changes feel forced and disconnected from what made the first game great.
5. Gamers reject the game, leading to poor reviews and disastrous sales.
6. Gaming media rushes to blame “sexist” and “toxic” gamers for not supporting it, while ignoring the game’s flaws.
7. The studio, unable to recover from the financial flop, shuts down or lays off talented artists and staff.

To me, the “God of Laundry” memes are just jokes. People memeing on it does not mean every criticism is just “they’re mad you play as a woman.” Not everyone is using that as a reason to "hate" on the game.
That’s the go-to because it’s easier than addressing the actual issues people have with the game.
I already laid out my reasons. The character design looks weak, the game looks uninspired, and Sony did not sell this thing well enough to justify why it even needs to exist.
Early reviews for Scary Movie are in, with IGN giving it a 5, and Rotten Tomatoes at 27%.
Based on early leaks and trailers, the movie features a lot of humor mocking LGBTQ and woke culture. Specifically, the jokes target Gen Z slang, pronoun obsession, DEI initiatives, influencer narcissism, and “victimhood” culture, shots at MeToo, and cancel culture.
Many reviewers are critical of it because it is an anti-woke movie that crams in references to wokeism, ageism, environmentalism, and more. It also mocks conservatives, Republicans, and racism as well.
Hard to say other than that if the movie will actually be good, since it doesn't release until tomorrow. But it mocks the sacred cows of the institutional left, and for that, they are all crashing out trying to bury the movie under bad reviews.
IGN's review tried to avoid the ideological framing, but you can just feel the reviewer coping and seething over the sacred cows being mocked in the movie.
Let's see how the movie is tomorrow; it might actually just suck, but anything that pushes against the leftists is a win to me.
As the gamers are being attacked for being "afraid of women" for disliking God of War Laufey, the same gamers are obsessed with Tasha from the Ace Combat 8 reveal trailer, and some of the other teaser materials, where she only shows up in a few minor portions.
Seems like gamers are NOT afraid of "women" in games. They just don't like a certain kind of woman in games, and yet a conventionally attractive, petite, pink-haired girl gets a lot of positive attention.
Hmmm, what could be the difference here?
Maybe gamers are just sick of betrayed expectations where they expected to see Kratos, and you end up playing as a middle-aged mom instead.
The reality is appeal.
Without appealing characters, games flop, and even a character like her, who shows up in tiny portions of the promotional material, is enough to get a lot of people interested.
A Muslim lady who agrees with him on Israel, banned him from attending an event that wouldn't have gotten 1/100th of the attention that this is getting. Also Cenk's Nephew supports this treatment & far worse for people he doesn't agree with
Hasan Piker’s Cuba trip was bankrolled by Chinese interests.
These so-called influencers are getting paid by foreign regimes to tear America apart from the inside.
Glad the @TheJusticeDept is investigating — this guy belongs in jail.
Wait...you're exposing them for hiring and pointing to past companies the people worked for rather than exposing any actual DEI or woke thing they're doing now?
Are you bored or paid by a rival?
David Jaffe, Creator of God of War, reacts to the reveal of GOW: Laufey.
"That looks like shit...reminds me of Forspoken"
"So uninsipired, so dull."
"It's dead. That game is not going to do well."
David is gonna get a lot of crap for this, so props for him calling it.
But he's gonna get a call. And a lot of pressure from his "just consume the female protagonist" audience and circle of friends.
I'm really curious what he says about it again in a couple of days.
