🚨🆕EXCL: The £85m price tag for Mateus Fernandes was set by #WHUFC before their relegation, as previously confirmed by @JacobsBen.

However, internally, West Ham’s valuation was always closer to around €80m (£69m).

Their stance changed significantly after relegation, with the club now needing to raise up to €100m in player sales.

They would have preferred to keep Fernandes, but the financial reality after dropping down a division has forced a rethink.
