@Markosonke1 According to the Global Fund, Eswatini has the highest adult HIV prevalence rate in the world, with an estimated 25%–27% of adults aged 15–49 living with HIV.
@__rhapsodies@ObibaPious The spirit of Idi Amin lives in them. Soon, they will learn that gullibility is not a viable way to navigate life. It’s only a matter of time.
@AfricaFirsts@Cheez_zar The qualification stage is long behind us. Now it’s time to show the fighting spirit and South African DNA on the World Cup stage. I just hope you’re not like a one-eyed man among the blind—looking good only because the competition around you is weak.
@sylv_ester_ Sainthood doesn’t matter in the dating world. Matters of the heart often defy logic, and some relationship issues simply have no rational explanation.
Some Zimbabweans live in cloud-cuckoo-land. The lack of exposure and sheer ignorance on display every day is staggering. This is precisely why ZANU-PF continues to maintain such a strong grip on the country. Many people have never experienced anything beyond the poverty-stricken reality they were born into and have been conditioned to accept it as normal. When deprivation becomes your only reference point, it becomes easier to tolerate failure, lower expectations, and resist the possibility that life could be better.
@CMukungunugwa There is no real parliament in Zimbabwe. Do you seriously call that choreographed spectacle a debate? If so, you must be out of your mind.
It is a misconception that Africa had no borders before colonialism. African kingdoms and states had well-defined territories that they defended fiercely. While these borders were not always drawn on maps in the modern sense, they were widely understood and recognized by neighboring peoples and rulers.
The boundaries of states such as the Sokoto Caliphate and the Zulu Kingdom were well known. When European colonizers arrived, they often had to negotiate with African rulers whose territorial authority they recognized. In many cases, they signed treaties with specific monarchs because they understood the extent of those rulers’ domains. They certainly did not sign a single treaty with one ruler on behalf of the entire continent.
In fact, these precolonial borders were often defended with great determination and, at times, considerable violence. The absence of modern cartography did not mean the absence of territorial boundaries.
Change is change. By the way, who actually owns Real Madrid? A change in the Real Madrid presidency is comparable in significance to a change of ownership at most clubs. Real Madrid is owned by more than 90,000 members and fans, known as socios, who elect the club’s president. The president holds ultimate executive, sporting, and institutional authority over the club. In practice, this is similar to the role that the owners of Chelsea FC play at Chelsea.
Well said. The so-called champions of democracy are the very people who facilitated the decimation of the opposition in Parliament. At the beginning, some of us did not fully understand the endgame. Now, it is clear what this was all about.
What is surprising is that the enablers remain largely unchallenged in the public arena. One would be forgiven for thinking that NC was the one who initiated the recalls. Meanwhile, the so-called leaders within CCC have remained conspicuously silent throughout this entire process, without even a word about CAB3. Interestingly they are still regarded as Saints.
At times, it feels as though we are all EDiots.
One genuine question: What exactly are those who “are genuinely opposed” to CAB3 doing to counter what ED and his cronies are doing?
It appears that this one individual is criticized no matter what he does—or doesn’t do. Listening to some people, you’d think he is the root cause of every problem the country faces today.
