What makes a town a Train Town?
It is not just having a station. It is what happens around it.
Our first stop is Normal, Illinois, where Amtrak’s Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle connect people, businesses, and community life through the heart of Uptown.

i will never leave philadelphia and i’m raising a child here. by far the biggest quality of life issue is the way people all over this entire city drive, with absolutely no regard for the people around them. there are solutions to this but no one wants to implement them
East River Tunnel Line 2 is NOW OPEN 🥳
We appreciate our partners at @USDOT, @LIRR, and @NJTRANSIT joining us yesterday to celebrate the major modernization that took place over the past year.
Today, a single bridge supports Amtrak, VRE, and freight rail service between Northern Virginia and DC, serving approximately 2 million Amtrak and 3 million VRE passengers each year.
Several Amtrak representatives recently toured @VaPassengerRail’s Long Bridge Project site, which by the end of 2030 will create a new two-track rail bridge, along with two new bicycle and pedestrian bridges. The project will increase capacity and reliability along a corridor that currently operates at 98% capacity during peak hours.
It was great to see the progress firsthand! Thank you to VPRA for hosting and for the continued partnership on this transformative project that will help improve rail service up and down the East Coast. We're excited to see the progress continue as we work together to deliver a new era of rail in America.
I dunno guys - I really think we need community input first... what do the RCOs think? what about noise pollution? I'm concerned about trash and parking 😔 - will these events be affordable and open to all? Are they family friendly? Dog friendly? Is there a drink minimum?
INBOX: Amtrak, and Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority sign a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize their relationship as both parties work to bring passenger rail back to Reading, Pottstown, and Phoenixville. #PoliticsPA
