@Qldaah 100% BS - The old OCA petroleum lease was deemed not viable decades ago, that’s why it was flogged off to QGC. These charlatans are just fleecing money from investors and the taxpayer to line their own pockets.
“The Australia Institute has published our annual tally of subsidies, concessions and tax breaks to major fossil fuel users and producers . . . Our estimate is $16.3 billion in 2025-26,” writes Rod Campbell.

The only real journalist in Australia who’s prepared to call out the appalling bullshit @AlboMP has said in our name, effectively condoning the blatantly illegal, disgraceful US-Israel slaughter of yet more civilians, this time in #Iran#auspol
Spain’s MEP, Irene Montero:
“They say Iran has nuclear weapons — sounds like what they said about Iraq.”
“But it is Israel that has nuclear weapons.”
“The U.S. is the only country to ever drop a nuclear bomb.”
“Today, Israel and the U.S. are the greatest threat to humanity.”
Demand Grows to Ban the Entry of the President of Israel into Australia for Incitement to Genocide
The demand to ban Israeli President Isaac Herzog from entering Australia has grown significantly in recent weeks, with new legal complaints and an expanded coalition of organizations calling for the denial of his visa and the opening of a criminal investigation (Anadolu Agency, 2026; Middle East Monitor, 2026).
On January 29, 2026, the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC), the Jewish Council of Australia, and the Hind Rajab Foundation filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General, the Minister for Home Affairs, and the Australian Federal Police (AFP). They request the revocation of the visa under the Migration Act on character and public interest grounds, and the investigation of Herzog for incitement to genocide, complicity in war crimes, and unlawful hate speech, citing many of his public statements—such as asserting that “an entire nation is responsible” in Gaza—supported by the 2025 UN Commission of Inquiry report (Middle East Monitor, 2026).
This action adds to and escalates the prior petition by the Australian Centre for International Justice (ACIJ), together with Al-Haq and Al Mezan Center for Human Rights (January 23, 2026), which had already urged the AFP to investigate for genocide (ABC News, 2026). The current coalition includes an unusual alliance between Muslim and progressive Jewish Australian communities, deepening internal divisions.
Herzog’s visit, scheduled from February 8 to 12, 2026 and invited by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as a gesture of consolation following the Bondi Beach attack, now faces growing calls from Labor progressives, Greens senators, and independent MPs to cancel it. National protests are being announced, including a “national day of action” during his stay (The Guardian, 2026). Herzog rejects the accusations as taken out of context. The Australian government has issued no official response.

In a democracy you don't pass retrospective laws that can ban groups, and you certainly don't ram them through in 24 hours - this is must-read analysis from barrister Greg Barnes:
Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny – and this one ticks every box https://t.co/nZI3XCHDwl
The most beautiful thing you could ever see in your life happened in Australia, and it was captured with a mobile phone camera from a train, in very bad weather! The question is where is the media coverage for such a great event?
But we can help make the whole world see it
