I built a Chrome Extensions with @tailwindcss and #alpinejs by @adamwathan & @calebporzio (respectively).

@atymic Agreed! Library support has always been a big factor for me too. Python has an incredible set of packages for data science and such, which makes certain jobs easier/faster. I wonder if we’ll start to see that emerge for PHP as time goes on 🤔

I never know what to make of these benchmarks, but if php 7.X is nearly 3 times faster than Python 3...I'm going to try to stay in PHP longer, instead of reaching for Python every time something gets remotely "data sciency." Now I just need to port Pandas 🤡

Apparently a non-trivial number of systems are experiencing #Y2020 bugs. A common Y2K "fix" just postponed things by 20 years, interpreting 00-19 as the 2000s and 20-99 as the 1900s. 20 years is now up, some of those systems are still in use, and they think it's 1920. Oooops.

I still circle back to this article by @reinink when I find myself typing "DB::raw()" for a complex query. It doesn't always solve the exact issue I have, but it always gets me thinking the right way.
