Being "smart" doesn't guarantee you'll be rich.
I've met doctors who are broke and high school dropouts who are rich.
Be humble and invest in your financial education.

The Baby Steps are a 7-step proven plan to help you pay off debt, grow your savings, and build wealth for the future. THIS is how you take back control of your money.
I was sweating in the Uber.
On my way to go meet with my CEO.
He was larger than life, controlled my entire future, and called me for a dreaded “walk and talk.”
At this time, I ran a very large Latin American investment firm. I made tons of money, was the pride of my latino parents, on the outside massively successful and yet on the inside categorically miserable.
As we walk along the beautiful grounds of the Monarch Resort, he asks me, “What are you really doing at the firm?”
I’m confused since we’re leading all international divisions. I try to explain how I think the future of raising money as investors will be done online, that newsletters are incredibly powerful, that social media builds trust and will beat steak dinners and cold calls in years not decades.
He just shakes his head and says, “Here, Codie, we get rich quietly. We build the we, not the me. You either get onboard with that or you get off the boat.”
It was an ultimatum. Play his game or pound sand.
Was it fair? I didn’t think so. But a line was drawn, and I had to decide:
Do I keep playing with borrowed chips or go buy my own?
So I jumped off that f*cking boat and learned how to swim.
In retrospect, it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I had been investing for years, I had plenty of cash, I had other businesses, but I never would have built an empire if they hadn’t pushed me off the cliff.
Not three weeks later I flew out to the headquarters, put in my two weeks notice, handed over my computer, and said goodbye to a shit ton of zero’s.
I had built up a very big business and despite that, I took nothing with me. No severance, left equity, no clients, no assets. Tail between my legs, I swore I’d never do that again.
So I started my own holding company. I took control of my future and built my own damn boat with plenty of room for others and complete control of the destination.
Sometimes a no is the only way to get to YOUR yes.
Aim for discipline, not motivation.
Motivation is just a feeling.
Discipline is a habit.
Discipline is the key to success.
99% of the success I have experienced has been directly correlated with my ability to act despite how I feel.
That’s why when people say, “How do you stay motivated?”
The answer is, “I don’t.”
I don’t rely on my feelings to get the job done. If anything, I can only count on my feelings to delay the job from getting done.
Feelings are fleeting and often illogical. Relying on a sensation to accomplish anything will leave you inconsistent and ultimately deter you from success.
The key is to build your “Get shit done when I feel like shit” muscle. Because that’s the truth, every ounce of your being will want to avoid or excuse… but you do it anyway.
Things I tell myself to build the GSD muscle…
“If you’re going to do it eventually, you may as well do it now.”
“I don’t need to feel good to stick with the plan.”
“If I do what’s hard now, the later will be easy.”
Your God-sized dream ARE within your reach and the only thing that can hold you back from achieving greatness is your own mind! Comment "YES" if you agree!
