@Zen_Zinger Yes, I forgot to clarify! The TRA's we're working with and will continue to find are specifically Korean, some male, and from New England area to be as close to the unique experience of our protagonist. Let me know if you have any other q's!
@Zen_Zinger Hey Michael, yes as mentioned in an thread, we have transracial adoptees involved from the idea to script to production. This is a big part of our mission, and we hope to continue to find more that can join our team professionally if you have any reccs!
@Zen_Zinger (3) And regarding adoptee actors, we also hope to hire as many AAPIs and adoptees for the cast and crew. Nonetheless, that is dependent on a million factors, such as whether this proj gets financed or not! Check out the WeFunder page for more info on our plan re this, thanks!
@lcshorten I completely understand and thank you for reaching out. Of course, there's only so much I can do to understand the nuances of every adoptees unique experience, but I hope to involve as many as possible along the way. Find SI on the WeFunder page (the second video)!
@julayneelle@lcshorten Hi Jula, Weβre still in the initial stages of finding the right orgs to donate to (as we just began the financing process), but weβre looking at places like KAAN, GOAL, and OKF! Do you have any that youβd recommend we reach out to?
@lcshorten (4) We pledge to handle the material with utmost sensitivity and diligence. Part of our mission for this campaign is to find even more partners and collaborators, so please let me know if you know any other Korean-American adoptees you think we could reach out to re involvement!
@lcshorten (2) He is and will continue to be tightly integrated in the film, from development to picture lock. Like my friend, there are consultants that have been involved in the development of the film that are also Korean American adoptees.
@lcshorten Hi Lee and Kianna, yes, thank you for this very important question! The story for SI, the proof of concept short film, was first conceived from conversation with one of my hometown best friends, who is a Korean-American adoptee.
LA friends! Plum Town is having its LA premiere at the DGA on May 8th (Mother's Day) as part of the "Parenthood" shorts program at LAAPFF. We're part of some great company, with a q&a to follow. Would love to see you guys there!
