@mouse_math would u say u think therefore mathematics is a lot more dependent on the intelligence system/mind producing it than a lot of people (like mathematical realists) believe
@EternalSunrise7@mitotic@glencoe2004 Funny you mention that Shermer + Kastrup podcast, I was listening to it today! I wasn't aware it was regarded as a disaster, but I certainly got the sense Shermer wasn't honestly and genuinely grappling with Kastrup's ideas.
@mitotic@glencoe2004 not claiming the physical world isn't real, but at the very least that we should at least admit that something self evidentially nonphysical (our conscious experience) exists
@OscarMDavies@davidzmorris but it seems naive to claim "X will never be intelligent" without first having a theory of intelligence. especially if X is capable of many tasks that are considered to require some form of intelligence
@GarrettPetersen I don't think this experiment tells us anything about the probability of an AI *actually* killing a human in this scenario. they've shown themselves to b extremely insightful as to whether they're being evaluated i.e "in a sandbox"
@Ameliuhhhh we have no idea how conscious experience arises at all, let alone in neural networks etc.
it's arrogant to think that despite having no understanding of conscious experience, ai DEFINITELY doesn't have anything similar
@mouse_math i asked ai if this works and at each step u have to only add everything that hasn't already been put into a previous set to make it a partition
@mouse_math start with 2Z (even naturals) then add the 1st prime then add 3Z - 2Z (multiples of 3 that aren't multiples of 2) then the 2nd prime etc. each partition is (n+1)Z - nZ + {nth prime}
