@curebores @ManaByte it is physically impossible to change BIOS settings remotely. unless they are the ones issuing BIOS updates. remote control softwares arent even accessible during BIOS. motherboard manufacturers are the only ones who can “tamper” your bios remotely by issuing BIOS updates.

@curebores @ManaByte They said they’re enforcing standard platform security features. Policies you need to follow. if you want to play their game, and you have a DMA device on, the standard is to enable IOMMU, so enable it or keep locked out of the game. This is that type of enforcement.

@curebores @ManaByte no it doesnt. but it certainly does force you to enable it to be able to access and play their games. it wil be you who has to turn it on. if your BIOS “suddenly” has it enabled, then most likely a BIOS update has happened that patches IOMMU to be enabled to meet new standards.

@curebores @ManaByte you basically debunked your own arguement. since its already on your bios, your computer manufacturer implemented it. riot is merely making use of it to make security concrete by not letting suspicious and vulnerable hardware run preemptively. that’s the purpose.
